Either I'm too trusting or I'm just crazy...

That basically sums it up -- I'm either too trusting or I'm just plain crazy. See I've been contemplating getting my hair cut during the past few days but haven't made time enough to go to a beauty shop. It got to bugging me last night and for a few hours I tried fighting off the urge to cut on my hair. I've cut my hair many times successfully over the years but never really mastered the back and that's the part I really wanted to tackle. I got to really obsessing over how I was going to pull this off and cut the back portion and then realized how my shoulder had been causing me some discomfort lately. I thought to myself how tough this would be, and virtually impossible to withstand the pain to pull this off! That is, until the lightbulb moment hit me... Yeah, that's it -- perhaps I could get Marissa to cut the back portion for me! It sounded like a good idea and when asked if she'd like to cut my hair, she exclaimed, "YES, Definitely Mom!" So off I went to prepare for my 10-year old daughter to cut my hair. I thought for a moment, "Am I crazy?" Then I thought, "No, I'm just a trusting mother!" and that seemed to settled my nerves just a bit.

She approached her job as a professional and for a moment I wasn't nervous at all. Then she began clipping, and was talking and singing about as she clipped strands of my hair, and I did have to remind her to focus from time to time. All in all, she did a wonderful job and it beats the past 3 haircuts I've gotten which is even more of a bonus. She was so sweet as I was looking in the mirror to inspect her work... she said, "Mom, you don't owe me for this haircut because it's free." And you know what, I'll take it. I'm not crazy, and I'm so happy to say that I trust my daughter. She's showing such wonderful responsibility and maturing into such a lovely young lady. (Thank you Marissa for doing such a great job!)

Sorry I don't have any pictures, but perhaps when Rick returns in a few days I'll snap one so you can see what I mean. He took the camera with him this work schedule.

The kids all have soccer practice tonight so I had better run get them prepared. They all are so excited, however I'm not too much looking forward to it. I've got 3 kids who all need to be at different places across town at the same time, so this will require some well-thought-out scheduling! The older ones will have to wait 20 or 30 minutes after practice because it takes that long to drive back and forth. Ahhh, the true meaning of a soccer mom! I love my children and I wouldn't trade my life for anything in the world! They brighten my days and I'm so proud of each of my kids!

OH BOY, I am cracking up. I had Emi cut the back of my hair today, which I have never had her do before either. I was in need of a cut and with just returning home the money is tight, so I started on it myself and had Emi help me with the back. Great minds think alike!!!
